Deciding upon a proper water treatment system can be a daunting task if you don't know what you require but letting our qualified and knowledgeable staff assist you on your purchase you can be satisfied that you are receiving quality products that are properly installed.

A water treatment system involves several items designed to purify, remove sediment and odors. The following is an example of some of the components that make up a water treatment system.

Water Softeners - Why you need one. Water softeners are an important part of a water treatment system especially if you live in an area where the water is considered 'hard' which means the ground water has a high level of calcium and other minerals. A water softener will help clean and remove these minerals  'softening' the water allowing for a lower use of detergents and chemicals needed for baths, showers, washing machines and dishwashers saving time and money. A water softener also assists in removing hydrogen sulphide from your water system.

Removing the 'rotten egg' smell Does your drinking water smell like rotten eggs? The rotten egg smell is caused by ground water containing Hydrogen Sulphide (H2s) which is decaying organic matter and/or chemical reactions with sulfur containing minerals in the soil and rock.

Water heaters can also assist in producing hydrogen sulphide by producing an environment in which bacteria to live. In addition to the smell of rotten eggs hydrogen sulphide gas produces a sulfur-reducing bacteria that not only generates slime but also promotes the growth of other bacteria harmful to your health and corrosive to the rest of your plumbing. Treating hydrogen sulphide from your water can be achieved by a variety of products such as

    • Activated carbon filters for hydrogen sulphide concentrations less than 1 mg/L
    • Manganese greensand filters for hydrogen sulphide concentrations up to 6 mg/L
    • Oxidation filtration systems for hydrogen sulphide concentrations up to and exceeding 6 mg/L
    • Chlorine injection system

Reverse Osmosis Systems

Reverse Osmosis is the process of removing of dissolved ions from the water by using a pressurized system to force water through a semi-permeable membrane allowing for clean safe drinking water at every tap. Reverse osmosis systems require the use of non-metal piping making them ideal for new buildings.

Ultra Violet (UV) Systems

In many newer water purification systems one can find a UV Light System installed inline of other filters and softeners in place of a chemical water purifier for those who are concerned about the environment and a peace uvlightsystemof mind.

As water passes through a special chamber it is exposed to ultra violet light by special lamps destroying the DNA of harmful bacteria, viruses and other micro-organisms found in our water removing their ability to reproduce and cause infections such as E. coli, cryptosporidium and Giardia.

An UV system helps to protect you and your loved ones in an easy to use, effective manner and are used in cottages, homes, as well as industrial and commercial settings from a single faucet to systems that help protect a whole community.
